About our camp

Rum Under the Stars Camp is a cozy and comfortable traditional Bedouin camp placed in the heart of Wadi Rum desert. Our location offers the perfect setting to relax and admire the marvellous desert mountains after a day of desert adventures. We focus on providing warm, calm and personal experience by making our travellers feel like a part of our family from the moment you arrive. Think of our camp as a peaceful escape from the hustle and hurry of your everyday life.

Crafted from local sheep wool, bricks and traditional materials, these cozy bungalows blend seamlessly with the stunning desert landscape. The Campfire Area

This is where we sit down after a long day, drink Bedouin tea, share stories and watch the stars. Our communal space has plenty of comfortable seating and places to relax. When the camp lights are turned off, the desert sky becomes the focus. On cooler evenings, our covered lounge offers a warm, sheltered place to unwind.

Meals and Drinks

At our camp, we serve traditional Bedouin food. From hearty breakfasts to delicious dinners, you can experience true Bedouin meals in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We prepare our meals with fresh, local ingredients, bought and prepared by our cook - Mr. Shaba.

Drinks

For all of our meals and throughout your stay the following drinks are

free and available: Bedouin tea, bottled water

You can buy the following: coffee, soft drinks such as Cola, Fanta and Sprite.

Special Meals

For a small fee you can have your meal and drinks privately served to your bungalow. So that you can enjoy the food privately, in peace with a panoramic view of the desert.

Breakfast

We serve a variety of foods: bread, za’atar, eggs, labneh, hummus, chicken mortadella, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, cheese, and jam. (the content of the breakfast depends on the supply of the local market)

Lunch

It typically consists of a freshly prepared hot dish like Galayah Bandura accompanied by bread. In addition, we also have a selection of side dishes like hummus, cheese, tuna or friend potatoes with eggs.

Dinner

We serve freshly prepared, traditional Bedouin meals like Zarb, Maqluba, Kabsa, Mandi - accompanied by bread, rice, hummus, salads, vegetables. For dessert, we serve sweets or fruits.

Vegetarians, Gluten-Free etc.

At our camp, we care about all your dietary needs, including vegetarian and allergy-friendly options. If you have any dietary restrictions, just let us know. We'll make sure your meals are prepared to suit your needs. Enjoy traditional Bedouin cuisine made with fresh, local ingredients, tailored just for you.

Desert BBQ and Lunch

During our 6h and 8h Jeep Tours we serve Lunch in the desert - made on the spot, traditional Bedouin meals. Prepared from fresh ingredients by our experienced Bedouin guides.

Our camp is located in a panoramic and peaceful spot near Al Ghuroub. Enjoy the morning view from your terrace with a cup of tea and by climbing the nearby rocks you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the desert.

Our camp’s location inside the Wadi Rum Protected Area makes it an excellent place for you to rest and enjoy the peace and silence of the desert. Thanks to our location and our policy of turning off the lights after dinner, guests can enjoy an unobstructed view of the starry sky. This is how Rum Under The Stars got its name. Moreover, staying at our camp for multiple days gives you the opportunity to fully enjoy the wonders of the desert, explore the lesser-visited and more remote parts of Wadi Rum and experience our additional attractions.

How to get to our camp

We will meet you at the Wadi Rum Visitor Centre. You can easily get there by car, taxi, or bus. If you arrive by car, you can leave it safely at the Visitor Centre. When you arrive in the morning, we recommend starting your stay with a Jeep tour. If you arrive in the evening, take the time to enjoy a beautiful Sunset Tour. For those seeking adventure, arrive 3-4 hours before sunset and enjoy a Quick Jeep Tour ending with a mesmerizing sunset.

Water, Electricity & Internet

Water

At our camp, you don't need to worry about cold water. We ensure warm water is available, heated using solar panels during the day. This way, after a long day of travelling and exploring, you can enjoy a warm shower in the evening

Electricity

At our camp, electricity is always there. Our solar panels provide power during the day, and a generator supplies electricity throughout the night. This ensures you can charge and use your devices anytime during your stay.

Internet

Although Wadi Rum is a desert with no phone signal or internet, our camp offers free Wi-Fi in the entire camp for all our guests.

Special Ocasions

Celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and engagements amidst the desert or in our camp with our specialized event services.
