Welcome to Wadi Rum Under the Stars Camp. We are a family-owned and operated camp situated in the heart of the enchanting Wadi Rum desert. Our camp was founded in 2014 by Ahmad, a proud member of the Zawaideh tribe, who grew up exploring the beautiful landscapes of Wadi Rum. Along with his partner Lilianna, who brings a unique perspective and deep connection to the Bedouin culture, our mission is to share the magic of Wadi Rum with the world.

We offer overnight stays in Bungalows, Tents - Night Under The Stars, Jeep Tours, Sunrise, Sunset, Night Tours, Camel Rides and a set of Special Packages guided and developed by experienced Bedouins who share their deep knowledge and love for the desert.

Caring About the Local Dogs

We care about the local dogs and we make sure no food is wasted; any meal leftovers are fed to the stray dogs of Wadi Rum. That's how our dog - Star came to our camp. By rescuing her and giving her all our love, now is a lovely companion of our guests, you can find out more on our social media.

Caring About the Environment

We care about the environment. Our camp uses solar panels for electricity and to create hot water, helping us reduce our impact on the desert. By using local food and resources, we support the local community and protect the environment.

Ahmad's Story

Ahmad, a proud member of the Zawaideh tribe, was born and raised among the breathtaking landscapes of Wadi Rum. From a young age, he was captivated by the beauty of his homeland and dreamed of sharing the magic of the desert and the rich Bedouin culture with the world. Growing up, he led a nomadic life, traversing every mountain and valley, forming a deep connection with the land. "The desert was my playground, and every corner of Wadi Rum holds a precious memory," Ahmad recalls, looking back on his childhood.

As a teenager, Ahmad attended school in Wadi Rum Village and spent his free time working in tourism. After completing his education, he continued learning from his family, listening to his grandparents' stories about family, nomadic life, culture, and history. "These stories were a true education for me, shaping my understanding of our heritage," Ahmad says. Determined to follow his passion, Ahmad worked full-time in various tourism roles, improving his English and deepening his knowledge of Wadi Rum and travelers' needs. In August 2014, he fulfilled his childhood dream by founding Rum Under the Stars Camp.

As a teenager, Ahmad attended school in Wadi Rum Village and spent his free time working in tourism. After completing his education, he continued learning from his family, listening to his grandparents' stories about family, nomadic life, culture, and history. "These stories were a true education for me, shaping my understanding of our heritage," Ahmad says. Determined to follow his passion, Ahmad worked full-time in various tourism roles, improving his English and deepening his knowledge of Wadi Rum and travelers' needs. In August 2014, he fulfilled his childhood dream by cofounding with Lilianna, Rum Under the Stars Camp.

Lilianna's story

Lilianna is a free spirit with a strong sense of adventure. She spent many years working in a large family business, gaining valuable experience. However, she decided to take a break from that life and focus on her well-being. During this time, Lilianna found comfort and inspiration in travel, which eventually brought her to the magical desert of Wadi Rum.

In 2023, Lilianna visited Wadi Rum and instantly fell in love with its stunning sunsets, peaceful beauty, and the spirit of the Bedouin people. She found joy and peace in every moment spent in the desert. Together with Ahmad, she decided to open a camp, inviting tourists to experience the traditions of the desert life. Lilianna's deep connection to people and the Bedouins to the desert makes the camp grow. Her mission is to share the magic of Wadi Rum with travellers while bringing a better future for the local area.

Our Team

We are proud to have Ahmad's father and brothers as part of our team. Dhaif Allah, Ahmad's father has been guiding tourists through the desert for over 10 years, sharing his deep knowledge and passion for Wadi Rum with countless visitors. Together, we bring a rich blend of experience, tradition, and dedication to ensuring that every guest has an unforgettable adventure.

Our Puppy - Najma

At our Bedouin camp, we have a special furry friend loved by all our guests - Star, or نجمة (Najma) in Arabic. Raised by our friendly Bedouin hosts, this playful puppy greets everyone with wagging tails and happy barks, making your stay memorable. Perfect for families and children, Star loves to play fetch and enjoy cuddles. Used to the peaceful desert life, Star is friendly with new faces and the camp's lively atmosphere.
